North Shore Square Mall is the fifth biggest mall in New Orleans area and it started to take rebranding efforts after 5 years. It wanted to give a fresh new look to its mall and attract huge traffic while retaining its current customers. In order to keeps its existing tenants happy, it hosted a themed, annual tenant meeting in order to thank the store owners and management and give a chance to help the tenants interact among themselves.
The team decided to give off branded merchandise to all the tenants during these meetings, in order to express their gratitude for their support. They wanted to award such a product that will be of some use to the tenants as well as have the potential to reach out its brand name by encasing the organization's logo.
They narrowed the search to that of an umbrella. It was the custom 48-inch fashion style umbrella which would complement well with the new, fresh, modern, peppy look of the mall's refreshed brand. The promotional umbrella was made of nylon and features an aluminium shaft, aluminium hook handle and keep-dry arc features. This umbrella was available in a variety of colours, including brown which went well with the white tone of the logo. It can also be customized depending upon what variety of handle and shaft material, the tenants' want.
Both the tenants and the team found the umbrellas to be of lightweight and easy to handle and were delighted in having got them. This became the first promotional product to carry the company's new logo. It was also placed in a strategic place where it was possible for everyone to see it. They believed it to be a solid investment and it proved very successful in promoting the shopping centre's refreshing image.
